On Monday, May 18, 2026, the Talent Business Alliance hosted a Tax Planning Workshop for Busy Businesses!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this workshop! A special thank you goes to our facilitator, Maria Chunn of Mizzenmast Money and Mentoring, for sharing her expertise so generously. Maria brought her practical wisdom and real-world insights to the group with an interactive approach. We are grateful for her time and her passion for helping small businesses thrive!
We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to Business Oregon for their support in funding business education efforts like this one. Workshops like these wouldn't be possible without their ongoing investment in our local business community, and for that we are deeply grateful.
Maria walked businesses through 5 practical steps they can start implementing right now to build better financial habits and reduce year-end stress around their taxes. The group also worked through some common real-life challenges together and came up with actionable solutions on the spot.
Key themes included:
Building consistency in day-to-day financial tracking, how to get started and how to stay consistent.
Reducing stress by making a plan and preparing throughout the year, not just in April.
Making existing systems work better for your business, rather than thinking you need fancy new systems.
Tackling real-life challenges that small business owners commonly face and thinking through practical solutions that will actually work.
Keep an eye on upcoming Talent Business Alliance events for businesses - we're committed to bringing relevant, practical education to the local business community in Talent, Phoenix, and the surrounding area throughout the year.
This workshop was made possible with generous grant support from Business Oregon. We thank them for their support of these programs in support of Talent and Phoenix businesses!
