Talent, Oregon - The Our Stories Through Art (OSTA) coalition invites the community to join an evening of creativity, learning, and connection at a special educational event for the OSTA project on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5 - 7 pm outside of Art Bop Beer Co., located at 102 Talent Avenue.
Coinciding with Talent's quarterly Art Walk, this free community gathering will offer residents and visitors a chance to learn about the OSTA initiative, explore current projects in progress, and participate in hands-on art activities in the heart of downtown Talent.
“Our Stories Through Art continues to grow, and we want the community to be part of this journey. This event is an opportunity to connect with neighbors, learn about how public art is transforming our city, and contribute your own creativity to this movement.” -Darby Ayers-Flood, Executive Director of the Talent Business Alliance
Event Highlights Include:
Interactive Art Activity: Decorate your own OSTA tote bag to take home
Project Updates: Learn about current OSTA initiatives including the Talent Strong Murals restoration and the Native Flora and Fauna Historical Museum Murals project
Public Art Education: Discover how the 3-5 year OSTA project is transforming Talent through murals, sculptures, performances, and ultimately an interactive Art Tour
Free OSTA Merchandise: Take home stickers and other swag
Community Art Piece: Contribute to a collaborative community art piece and share your talent
Public Art Trivia: Test yourself with some public art trivia and see how much you know about Talent’s existing public art
The OSTA project is a coalition effort led by the Talent Business Alliance in partnership with the Talent Historical Society, Talent Maker City, Coalición Fortaleza, and the Talent's Public Arts Committee. Together, these organizations are using art as a powerful tool for storytelling, education, creative placemaking, and community connection – honoring Talent's diverse histories while revitalizing the local economy.
Currently in its foundation-building phase, OSTA has already secured grants from the Ford Family Foundation and the Oregon Community Foundation. The project is actively working on multiple initiatives, including the restoration of the beloved Talent Strong Community Murals created by over 300 community members following the 2020 Almeda fire, and the development of a new mural series celebrating the native flora and fauna of the region at the Talent Historical Museum.
The public is warmly invited to stop by Art Bop Beer Co. during the Art Walk to learn, create, and celebrate the power of community stories told through art.
